Born in the mid-eighties, I spent the first 10 years of my life on the southeast coast of Florida. When I was getting ready to enter middle school, my family moved to a tiny town in the Colorado mountains. The town had one stoplight and the nearest Walmart was 30 minutes away. My main hobbies were those of any other kid who grew up in church: I played piano and sang (in church of course), went to youth group, played basketball, raised a menagerie of animals, and hung out with my friends.
In 2005, I moved back to Florida to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University. I studied Christian Social Ministry and Public Relations. I first entered ministry as an intern during my college years and eventually became a children’s ministry director and worship pastor’s assistant at a small church plant in Ft. Lauderdale. When that came to an end, I went to work for a children’s ministry at one of the largest churches in the nation (what a switch!).
After burning out in ministry in 2014, I moved back to Colorado to be closer to my dad and older brothers. I started a downward spiral, and it took a few years to get back on the right track. My life took a drastic turn after an encounter with the Holy Spirit in 2018. I found an amazing church family and eventually returned to full-time ministry for several years. I worked for an international media ministry doing operational management, product development, and marketing. I was mentored spiritually, loved unconditionally, and enthusiastically encouraged to use my God-given gifts. I was discipled during this time in the most unique way imaginable—by ghostwriting, editing books, and developing an online learning platform for one of the most experienced and trusted Charismatic voices out there. Part of my job was to listen, watch, and read countless hours of Spirit-filled teachings that were grounded in the Word of God. What an amazing way to learn deep spiritual truths!
At the end of 2023, I felt God calling me to honor my father and help him with the family business. It was extremely difficult to leave my full-time position but I’m still writing, editing, and doing the things I love on a part-time basis. Best of all, I still get to be with the people who mentor me, love me, and challenge me.
I live in the Denver area with my dog, two cats, a wonderful roommate (and her dog), and countless books (I finally have a giant bookcase with a ladder).
